What we know about you, and why.

Chalkline is a trading name of MTG Technical Consulting Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17342687. Registered office: Office 1665, 60 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 2EW. We decide how the information below is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law.

The enquiry form sends us your name, email address, business name and what you tell us about your business. The claim form sends us which preview you are claiming, the domain you chose and the plan. We use them to answer you and to build and run your site, because you asked us to, and for nothing else.

Stripe takes the payment and handles your card details; we never see them. Stripe passes us your name, email address, business name, phone number and what you bought. We keep them to run your plan, and because a company has to keep its financial records for six years.

We email businesses about a website using details the business publishes itself: its name, trade and town, and the business email address on its own website or listing. We only email limited companies and LLPs. We rely on our legitimate interest in offering a business a service it may want.

We keep those details so we never contact the same business twice. Reply stop to any email and we will not contact you again, and we keep a note that you asked so that it stays that way.

If we built you a preview, we count visits to it with Vercel Web Analytics: that it was opened, from which country, and the kind of device. It stores nothing on your device and is not tied to you.

Vercel hosts this site, and its server logs can include your IP address. Resend delivers the emails the forms send us. Google runs our inbox and the list of businesses we have contacted. Stripe takes payments. Each handles the information for us under its own security and data protection terms. We do not sell anything we hold, and we do not use it for advertising.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are read, where visitors came from, and the kind of device and browser. It stores nothing on your device and is not tied to you or your IP address. A visit is recognised for at most 24 hours, and the counts are only ever seen as totals.

This site sets no cookies of its own. When you choose to pay, Stripe's payment form loads on the claim page and sets the cookies it needs to take a payment safely and prevent fraud. Nothing else sets one.

An enquiry that goes nowhere is deleted after a year. A client's details are kept while they are a client, and payment records for six years after that. A business that asked not to be contacted stays on our do-not-contact list, because that list is what keeps the promise.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it within a month. Email hello@chalkline.space. If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
