What you pay for, and how to leave.

We build your preview before you pay anything. It sits at its own address, kept out of search, for 30 days, and then it comes down.

Before you claim it we are happy to make small changes: wording, colours, a section moved or taken out. Bigger changes, or a different design, come after you claim.

£20 a month, or the monthly price we quoted you if your site has extras such as online booking or a shop. It covers the site, hosting, your domain, small changes when you ask, local search basics, and email forwarding from your domain to an address you already use. Mailboxes on your domain are quoted separately.

There is no minimum term. Stripe takes the payment each month, starting on the day you claim.

Small changes means updates to what is already on the site: wording, photos, prices, opening hours, a service added to a list. A new page, a new feature or a different design is quoted first.

Pay twelve times your monthly price once, which is £240 on the standard plan, and the site and its domain are yours. That includes the next twelve months of everything in the monthly plan. After that year, stay with us on the monthly plan, or take the site and run it yourself.

You can do this when you claim or at any point later. Monthly payments already made paid for the hosting and support you had, so they do not count towards it.

Your site goes online on your domain within 24 hours of receiving your details, from the form after you pay or your reply to our email. If you already have a domain, the 24 hours start once it points at us, and we send you the one change to make.

Your own photos, logo and details go in as you send them. They stay yours, and we use them only on your site.

The footer carries a small Made by Chalkline credit. If you own your site, we take it off whenever you ask.

On the monthly plan we register your domain and look after it for you, as part of the service. When you own the site, we transfer the domain to you.

A domain you already had stays yours throughout. We only point it at the site.

Your words, photos and logo are yours, always. On the monthly plan the design and code of the site are ours, and you have the use of them for as long as you are on the plan. When you own the site, the design and code become yours as well.

Email hello@chalkline.space and the monthly plan stops. You are not charged again.

Your site stays up until the end of the month you have paid for, and then it comes down. A domain we registered for you is not renewed. To keep the site and the domain, pay the price to own it before that month ends.

Stripe tries again over the following days and emails you. If a payment has still not been made 14 days after it was due, we may take the site offline until it is, and after 30 days the plan ends as if you had cancelled.

Within 14 days of your first payment, ask and you get your money back in full, less what we paid to register your domain if we bought one for you, because a registration cannot be refunded to us. The site then comes down.

After 14 days, payments already made are not refunded. Cancelling stops the next one.

Anything added to your site that changes the monthly price is quoted first, and nothing changes until you say yes. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

You confirm you have the right to use the photos, words and logos you send, and that what you ask us to publish is lawful and true. We can take down anything we are told is unlawful while it is looked into.

We look after the site with care and keep it online, but we cannot promise it is never unavailable, because it depends on hosting and services we do not run. Our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem, and we are not liable for lost business or profit. Nothing here limits any liability the law does not allow us to limit.

If we change these terms, we email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you. Your price only changes if you agree to it. The terms you agreed to are named on your receipt page, by date.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
